Beginning in January, the classes will be divided a little differently. Basically, children 6-8 will still be in Drama I, Students 15 or older will be in Drama II, but students between the ages of 9 and 14 may choose between the two classes, based on what their expectations are for this class. Young children 6-8 who feel ambitious may still grow their acting skills by requesting extra homework, but this way we don't make things too difficult for the dance portion of our class time.
Drama I: Ages 6-14
Improvisation, basic acting technique, basic stage makeup, theatre games.
Class will prepare some simple skits for presentation the last week in April.
No homework expected outside of class. Children ages 6-8 may ask to do extended projects and monologues as homework.
Drama II: Ages 9-17
Monologues, scene work, basic stage makeup, enunciation and projection.
Class will prepare a play for presentation the last week in April.
Homework (memorization and writing) will be expected outside of class each week.

December update
Parents:
Thank you for your continued support and your prayers.
Your children should be continuing to work on their monologues in preparation for Wednesday's class time, implementing suggestions that they have received over the past couple weeks.
I appreciate those who were able to get back to me regarding a parent showcase. Some said that Tuesday night would work for them, a few families did not respond at all, but several specifically said that the evening would NOT work and a few commented that all of December was really very busy. Therefore, the Homeschool Drama Class will have a short performance at 11:00 during their final December class on this Wednesday, with a more formal parent showcase on a Friday evening in January, tentatively the 15th.
This Wednesday's performance will include a dance performance by the older class, some improvisation by the younger class, and music performances by the combined group.
For this Wednesday, please wear:
A solid color shirt, and pants you can move in.
Tennis shoes or dance shoes, NOT flip-flops or crocs.
In addition, we've been working on "Silent Night" and all students in the homeschool class are invited to perform in a Christmas concert this coming Wednesday evening! Please wear any red shirt and jeans or dark pants/skirt. Please let Miss Pam know whether you intend to participate. You will need to arrive at Applause Theatre around 6:15.Various students who have been a part of The Vocal Studio of Pamela Moore anytime during the year 2009 will be performing in her annual Christmas concert. A reception will follow.
When: Wednesday, December 16, 2009, 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Applause Theatre
